Doggie Daycare

What are the benefits?

Never heard of Doggie Daycare? The benefits of allowing your dog to attend doggie daycare are astounding. Dogs get a safe space to socialize and play with a variety of friends. For young dogs, it teaches them valuable social skills that help them learn how to properly meet and interact with a variety of other dogs. High energy dogs are given a proper outlet for all of their playfulness, allowing you to simply relax and enjoy their company at home and not have a dog demanding attention and exercise.

Attending daycare also allows your dog to become familiar with our facility and staff. This makes spending the night much more enjoyable since there isn’t the stress of being in a new environment.

About Our Doggie Daycare

After passing their Playgroup Compatibility Evaluation, dogs get to spend their day in playgroups, rotating between indoor and outdoor play areas. Playgroups are formed with dogs of similar sizes and temperaments. When you drop off your dog, their furry friends immediately greet them, ready for a full day of play. The day is spent playing on the playground equipment, swimming in the kiddy pools, or just lounging around in one of our four playgroups.

Nap time is a must and lunch is available for those dogs whose parents request it. By the time parents arrive to pick-up their dogs from doggie daycare, they’ll find their dog tired, hungry and ready to go bed.

Playgroup Compatibility Evaluation

For the safety of your pet and other dogs at Pawtropolis, we closely screen all dogs before they’re allowed to join our playgroups. It is also important that the staff have time to build a relationship with your dog, so they can create the best, most enjoyable, and safest group possible. Therefore, before attending daycare or daycare sleepovers, all dogs must first participate in our Playgroup Compatibility Evaluation (PCE).

Evaluation Requirements

  • Without exceptions, male dogs over 7 months must be neutered.
  • Female dogs may not be in heat or recently out of heat.
  • Dogs must not be aggressive (with people or other dogs) or overly possessive of toys.
  • Provide up-to-date Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella records. No handwritten records will be accepted.
  • Puppies are allowed once they’ve had at least 2 series of puppy shots and bordetella.
  • Please note: Evaluations are done by appointment on Monday–Thursday (Westside is currently offering Friday evaluation appointments as well.) Evaluations cannot be given on the same day as an overnight stay.

Reservations for daycare or daycare overnights may be made only after the Evaluation has been completed and your dog is found to be compatible.

Planning Your Dog's Evaluation

  1. Online Enrollment: Click here to access our online registration and create your owner profile. We will need your dog’s vaccine records showing proof that rabies, DHPP, & bordetella are current. We assume bordetella is due in 6-months unless your paperwork says otherwise. Handwritten records are not accepted.
  2. Call the Pawtropolis location of your choice to schedule your parent orientation. Parent orientations are done over the phone and take approximately 20-30 minutes. Your dog’s evaluation will be scheduled at that time. Do not make an evaluation request via our online software. Calling allows us to find the best appointment spot to meet your needs.
  3. When you arrive at Pawtropolis for your dog’s evaluation, you should plan to remain with your dog for at least 5-10 minutes. A playgroup supervisor will come and greet you and your dog and then escort your dog to our daycare area. Owners can leave at this point.
  4. New dogs need to stay at Pawtropolis for a minimum of a half day for their evaluation. If they are doing well, they may stay for the entire play day up until 7:30pm, our final pet pick-up time.
  5. When you pick your dog up, we will provide you with an Evaluation Review Sheet indicating your dog’s behavior throughout the day. The cost for the Evaluation is $35.
  6. Congratulations! At this point your dog will be an official Pawtropolis citizen. As long as all vet records are kept current, you are now invited to call/email and schedule daycare reservations whenever needed.
